How Do You Build A Wooden Ice Fishing House?
A wooden ice fishing house is a structure that protects you from the cold while you ice fish. It blocks rain and snow and helps contains some of your body heat. You can build a wooden ice fishing house just like you would build a small shed, using frames for the floor and walls, then covering the sides with plywood or siding. Start with a basic dimension of 4-by-4-by-6 feet. Create the floor and ceiling frames by cutting eight 4 foot lengths of 2-by-4 boards. Assemble four of them into two 4-by-4 square frames by nailing the boards together at the corners with 3-inch galvanized nails. Cut two more 4 foot lengths of 2-by-4 boards and slide them into the middle of these frames as support braces. Nail them in place with 3-inch galvanized nails. Cut four 6-foot sections of 2-by-4 boards and attach one to the end of each corner of the frame by sliding it inside the frame boards right at the edge of the corner, so one edge rests flush with the intersecting frame board and one side lays flush
