How Do You Build A Successful Balloon Powered Car?
Ever attend a pinewood derby race and say, “I could make a faster car than that.” Well, here’s your chance. With some easy steps and fun finagling, you can combine a pinewood derby car and a Rocket Balloon to leave all of those other miniature wooden cars in the dust. Use the pinewood derby kit to build the model car. Don’t attach the wheels yet, to keep the car from rolling around while you work on it. Cut a quarter-inch off one side of the handle of the clothespin. Punch a slot the size of the uncut end of clothespin to the top rear of the pinewood derby car using the flat-head screwdriver. Fill the slot with the wood glue and insert the uncut end of the clothespin into the slot. Let it dry for 10 hours. Attach the wheels to the car pinewood derby car. Decorate the car as you like. Insert 1-inch-long piece of the large-diameter straw into the mouth of the Rocket Balloon. Make sure the straw fits snugly inside balloon. Use tape if necessary.
