Many people enjoy the process of building street stock race cars. This can be relatively inexpensive if you do the work yourself. This process is time consuming and requires a lot of dedication. Follow these steps to build a street stock race car. Find an old wrecker car such as an Oldsmobile Cutlass. Strip off everything that can be unbolted including the engine, transmission, doors and fenders. Save everything as you may need it later. Take out all the glass. Wear eye protection and gloves before taking the hammer to the windows. You can also call a windshield repairman to do this if you want to save yourself the clean up afterwards. Remove the top of the car using a sawzall. Keep it in good condition as you will be replacing it after installing the protective cage. Spray the whole car with engine cleaner. Leave it on overnight.
