Dig a trench for your wall footing that extends below the frost line and is two feet wider than your wall. Fill the trench with four inches of coarse sand. Tamp the sand down with a tamping tool. Drive stakes into the ground along the perimeter of your trench, and nail scrap lumber inside the stakes to create footer forms. Nail spreaders to your stakes every three feet. Mix concrete in a wheel barrow to the consistency of a mud pie, and shovel it into the form. Rake the concrete even, and smooth with a trowel. Allow to cure for 48 hours.
