How Do You Build A Storage Shed From Cinder Blocks?
If you’ve ever had a garage serving as a catch-all for all manner of toys and equipment, you might have thought about building an outdoor shed. If you are interested in the permanence of a cinder block shed, you will need to spend extra time preparing a foundation to prevent cracks in the long run. Dig a trench for your wall footing that extends below the frost line and is two feet wider than your wall. Fill the trench with four inches of coarse sand. Tamp the sand down with a tamping tool. Drive stakes into the ground along the perimeter of your trench, and nail scrap lumber inside the stakes to create footer forms. Nail spreaders to your stakes every three feet. Mix concrete in a wheel barrow to the consistency of a mud pie, and shovel it into the form. Rake the concrete even, and smooth with a trowel. Allow to cure for 48 hours.
