How Do You Build A Simple Electric Circuit?
One of the easiest ways to teach a young child about the rudiments of electricity is to build a basic electrical circuit. If the proper materials are used, along with a little assistance from an adult, this can be an entertaining, informative and completely safe, home-based science project. You will only need a few basic, and very inexpensive components, and a few simple hand tools. Cut the bell wire into two equal length pieces, using the wire cutters. Let your child measure the wire and use the wire cutters to snip it in two. Strip about 1/2 inch of insulation from each end of both wires. Use the utility knife to perform this step. If the child is very young, this should be performed by an adult. Loosen the contact screws on the miniature lamp base. Your child can do this, using the small screwdriver. He will not need to remove the screws, simply loosen them. Wrap one bare end of each wire around the shank of each of the contact screws on the miniature lamp base. Wrap the wire in a c
