How Do You Build A Shot Glass Shelf?
Collectors of all sorts want to build just the right display case for their collections. Shot glass shelves are not like most display cases or shelves. Each shelf needs to be custom made for the shot glasses for it to serve the purpose. Choose the wood that will match the existing décor in your house. Oak is a good choice due to its ability to absorb stain and change color. The most popular lumber chosen for shelves and display cases is red or white oak. Measure the diameter of the top of the largest shot glass in your collection. Rip (cut lengthwise) as many shelves as needed 1-inch wider than the diameter of that shot glass. The length of the shelves depends on how many shot glasses you want to store on each shelf and how far apart you want them to be. Draw a centerline down the length of the shelf.
