How Do You Build A Shed Roof?
In building your shed, it is very important to remember that the roof needs to be well designed and well constructed so that it can handle the heavy loads from wind and snow. You want to be certain it will hold up well to properly protect your contents for years of use. I always recommend that you purchase a good set of shed plans and make certain that the roof design meets the code requirements for your area. Once you check that out, head to the local lumber yard and have them fabricate your roof trusses. Once the roof trusses are delivered, take a pencil and place a mark on the top of your shed every 24″ to designate where the truss should be mounted. Take the first truss and center it on the first mark and nail it into place. Repeat for the remaining marks. Most roof designs specify 5/8″ plywood panels to cover the roof. Nail them to the trusses.
