How Do You Build A Rustic Split Rail Fence?
I’ve always loved the country and so when we moved to our rural homestead I constructed some split rail fences. Using split Oak rails which I split from twelve foot long logs I created several of these over time. The indented vee shaped coves made by the zig zagging of the construction make perfect places to plant flowers, bulbs, shrubs – anything at all really. It takes a little sweat equity but it’s well worthwhile. The fence in the photo was taken in front of our country home on a ridge one hundred feet above a mountain stream.
