Even with that, building your own PC can allow you to have more of a say in what parts go into it, what software it uses and how much you will ultimately have to pay for it. Building a PC has become quite simple; parts and software are widely available and helpful electronic store clerks are there to answer your questions. Use your screwdriver to remove the case cover. Check that all the screws and small parts are included; you should have chassis screws which are used for mounting cards, smaller screws for the motherboard, standoffs that are either punch-through or screw-in and hold the motherboard about 1/8th inch from the mounting plate and washers that are plastic (these may not be needed if your motherboard has metal around the screw holes). Clean the case. Use a rag or compressed air for the inside and a rag to wipe down the o
