How Do You Build A Patio Table With Recycled Material?
I love to turn thrown away materials into usable items, so when my wife dragged home a glass table top headed for the trash, I decided to put it to use. With this and some old bed frame rails also headed to the recycle center, I put together a patio/garden table that will be a perfect addition to our garden area. The picture shows the old glass top rescued from the dump. Measure the dimensions and plan how to construct the frame so that it will be stable and not prone to tipping, pleasing to the eye and comfortable to use. The overall dimensions of the glass is 42″x62″. I decided that building the top frame 24″x42″ would give stability and comfortable sitting. These are the two sets of old bed rails used. One set will form the top frame while the other will for the legs. To figure the overall table height, I went around to every table I saw and measured up from the floor.
