How Do You Build A Motorcycle Stand?
A motorcycle stand is used to lift and hold a motorcycle’s back wheel off the ground and thereby stand the motorcycle upright without use of the kickstand. A motorcycle stand can be used to prop up your bike while you work on certain parts of it, including the back wheel, chain, rear brakes or turn signals. It can also be used to display the bike at shows so people can see it in the full upright position, instead of trying to imaging how it looks riding down the road, since the kickstand tilts the bike on an angle. They can be made a variety of different ways. Step 1 Mark off an 8-inch section in the middle of a 4-foot length of 1 inch wide steel pipe. Step 2 Bend the pipe into a horseshoe shape, using metal benders, leaving the 8-inch section as the bottom of the “U.” Step 3 Make two more marks on the pipe about 24 inches from the corners of the “U” shape.
