How Do You Build A Money Box?
Money needs a secure place. A traditional money box with lock and key keeps your bills and coins safe. With a quick key turn, open the box and take out your money. Mark out 10 box pieces on the wood pieces. Begin with the 1/4-inch thick wood piece. Mark measures for five pieces: 6 and 5/8 inches wide by 4 and 3/8 inches front to back bottom, a back and a front each 6 and 5/8 inches wide by 3 and 3/8 inches high, and a box top front and box top back at 6 and 5/8 inches wide and 5/8-inch high. From the 3/8-inch wood piece, mark out two ends for the box bottom 4 and 5/8 inches wide by 3 and 3/8 inches high, and two box top ends at 4 and 5/8 inches wide by 5/8-inch high. Lay out the top 6 and 5/8 inches wide by 3 and 7/8 inches front to back on the 1/8-inch wood piece. Cut out the 10 pieces. Using the small saw, cut out each piece. Follow the marks. Make rabbet cuts on front, back and end pieces for the box bottom. All rabbet cuts are 1/8-inch deep. On the front and back pieces, saw a 1/8-
