How Do You Build A Luke Skywalker Lightsaber?
Use a Graflex Camera Flash to make Luke Skywalker’s original lightsaber. The character used this lightsaber in the movies “Star Wars: A New Hope” and “Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back.” The original props department used the flash to make the first lightsabers. The Graflex Camera Flash already has most of the metal pieces attached to it. The flash was made in the 1940s. Find the flash tube online or used photography equipment stores. Remove the round dish from the top of the flash tube with a Philips head screwdriver. Cut a windshield wiper blade or rubber grips into 3-inch pieces. Use superglue to attach the blade or grips vertically to the bottom sides of the tube. Space the rubber half an inch apart. Cover the bottom of the tube. Apply superglue to top of the raised rectangle piece. Place the flat beads side by side across the piece. Use the super glue to attach the D-ring to the bottom of the tube.
