How Do You Build A Jewelers Workbench?
A professional jeweler needs a comfortable, sturdy workbench on which to sit and create rings, necklaces and bracelets. Your workbench stool will need legs long enough to allow a jeweler to sit at a work table without squatting too much. It is also important to measure the stool’s height for the person who will be doing most of the sitting. To build your own bench, all you need are some good woodworking skills and some basic materials. Obtain the type of wood you want to use to build the jeweler’s workbench. Good types of wood to work with for this type of project include oak, cherry and beech. Trim pieces if necessary, and then sand them. Use the electric drill to create small holes in each of the four corners of the underside of the wooden base. The wooden base will be the jeweler’s workbench. Chisel each of the holes slightly to fit a screw head inside. Your workbench stool will need legs that range from 2- to 2-1/2-feet tall for the jeweler to sit and work without squatting too muc
