Be crafty. • Gather a few sturdy branches from the woods. • Try old planks or plywood for the walls and a tarp for the roof. • Someone may have an old carpet. • Cover a window opening with old screening. Consider old fabric for a door. • Find a location. Find a group of trees in a quiet spot in the woods or at the far end of the backyard. • Assemble the fort. • Attach several sturdy branches horizontally from one tree to another. • Attach old planks or plywood to the branches, leaving openings for a door and windows. • Attach a tarp as a roof, if desired. Continue to add on. Reinforce and add materials as you find them. Add a plywood roof.
