Young children love to play with toys, but these toys can easily create a mess in a family room or basement. Doll trunks provide an easy way to quickly clean up the toys and put them in general storage. Building a doll trunk on your own will be way cheaper than going out and buying an expensive one from a store. In addition, all the tools and materials necessary to build a doll trunk can be purchased at a local home improvement store. Building the doll trunk does require some precision cutting wood, so it is helpful to have experience with a saw. Measure and cut two 34 inch long pieces of 1 x 10 inch pine board for the sides, one 34 inch piece of 1 x 8 inch pine board for the lid, and two 13 1/2 inch pieces of pine board for the end sides.
