How Do You Build A Detached Outdoor Deck?
An outdoor deck that is detached from your home can add functionality to an outdoor area that may otherwise be underutilized. Outdoor decks can be used for entertaining friends, cooking outdoors or just relaxing. The construction of these decks is straightforward and can be accomplished by following a few simple steps. Select the area for the construction of your deck. Mark it by running string between stakes that are driven along the perimeter. Mark locations for the concrete piers that will serve as the foundation of the deck. These piers should be located at the corners of the deck and spaced 10 feet apart in each direction. Dig holes for the piers that are at least 18 inches deep or below the frost line for your climate, whichever is deepest.
