Lay out 2 by 6 inch boards on the edge of the roof, spaced at 16 inches, to cover the area you want the deck to cover. Then take two more 2 by 6 boards and connect these at a right angle to the boards you’ve laid out. Connect the perpendicular boards to the first boards with 3 inch galvanized wood screws.
