Got more shoes than you know what to do with? Here’s a quick and easy custom shoe rack that will solve all your problems. Determine your space. Each pair of shoes will need a space roughly 6 inches high x 8 inches wide x 12 inches deep. Sandals, flip flops, snowshoes and the like will take up differing amounts. See how much space you have in which to fit your shoes. As an example we’ll assume that we have 16 pairs of shoes to fit in a space that’s 4 1/2 feet wide: Cut 3 pieces of shelving to 48 3/4 inches in length. Cut 2 additional pieces to 22 1/4 inches in length. Cut 3 more pieces to 6 inches in length. Assemble. The 22 1/4 inch piece are your sides. Place them face down (on the finished 3/4 inch edge) on a non-marring surface. Measure up 6 inches from the bottoms and span one of the 48 3/4 inch pieces between the sides. Attach. This is the bottom shelf. Measure up an additional 6 from the top of the bottom shelf and attach the next. Do the same with the third. The sides will be 2
