How Do You BUILD A CUSTOM FIBERGLASS DASH?
Want to set your vehicle apart from the rest of the croud, build a custom fiberglass dash, options are limitless. Step 1 Remove your factory dashboard from your vehicle. I do not recommend driving without the dashboard. Step 2 Sand the dashboard smooth with 80 grit sandpaper, then 150 grit sandpaper. Step 3 Clean the dashboard. Step 4 Mix your fiberglass resin and hardener, apply liberally with a paint brush covering the entire dash, Step 5 Sand smooth with 80 grit sandpaper Step 6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 until desired thickness is acquired. Step 7 Once the fiberglass dash is at the desired thickness, sand with 150 grit, 300 grit, 600 grit, 1200, grit, and finally 1500 grit. Step 8 once desired smoothness and consistency is acquired spray primer Step 9 Let primer dry, spray the paint, Step 10 Once paint is dry, spray clear coat.
