How Do You Build A Concrete Slab Form?

0

Whether it’s a sidewalk or a patio concrete is poured in liquid form and needs to be contained while it cures. With a few basic tools and methods, concrete can be poured into the desired slab size. Determine the total distance around the proposed concrete slab. This will determine how much lumber and how much concrete is needed. Clear the area of all growth and vegetation. Be sure to take out somewhere between 4 and 6 inches of earth. Spread a layer of gravel in the area where the concrete will be poured. Using the 2x4s and stakes, place the 2x4s around the perimeter of the slab. Hammer in the stakes on the side of the 2x4s outside of the slab. Pour concrete and it with respect to the concrete form. A 2×4 longer than the distance across the slab should serve this purpose. Drag it across until fairly level with the form. Allow to cure. Remove the form.
