How Do You Build A Concrete Brick Paver Patio?
We’ve all seen (and admired!) patios made from individual bricks or concrete pavers. I’m just finishing my latest one and would like to share a few tips and tricks that will help make the job a little easier – and you’ll have a nicer patio when you’re finished! The first step is the most important: planning. You’ve got to layout your patio so that it does what you want it to – and doesn’t interfere with other aspects of your home. Things to consider: Sunlight and Shade: Will my patio be useful year ’round? Snow Removal: This is not something we usually consider in the summer! Buried Utilities: Will I have to tear up my patio if something needs work? Drainage: Will I end up with a patio or a puddle? Soil conditions: Is it so swampy that my patio sinks after a year? Landscaping: Will the bushes take over as they grow? What about that tree? It’s beyond the scope of this article to ask ALL the questions that you need to ask about your particular site.
