How Do You Build A Bike Storage Rack?
A bike rack allows people to hang bikes vertically on a wall. It keeps the bikes organized, untangled and out of the way. Read on to learn how to build a bike storage rack. Measure the length of the bikes from tire to tire. Measure the width of one tire. Start 2 inches from the edge of a 2-by-4. Screw three vinyl-coated hooks into it. Place each hook 22-inches apart. Start 12 1/2 inches from the edge of the other 2-by-4. Screw the other two hooks into the board. They also need to be set 22 inches apart. Drill a hole 1 inch from the end of each 2-by-4. Measure the length of the bike plus 2 inches from the floor up on the wall. Mark the spot. Mount the 2-by-4 with the three screws to the wall at the measured line. Use the 3-1/2- or 4-inch screws for the job. Measure up, from that board, the length of the tire plus 2 inches. Mount the second board. Slide the tire one of the bikes into the hook to hang the bike.
