How Do You Brighten Egyptian Cotton Sheets?
Egyptian cotton is one of the most desired fabrics in the world and its durability as well as softness allows for years of use. Occasionally, however, it is possible for the sheets to become “dingy” after repeated use and washing, leaving your cotton sheets dull and unappealing. Brightening these sheets is actually fairly easy. Change detergent. Different detergents use different chemical formulas for cleaning and may be dissolved through the use of a different detergent. Use a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner. Cleaners such as OxiClean use hydrogen peroxide which can dissolve proteins that build up on cotton fibers and attract dirt. OxiClean and similar products can dissolve these proteins over time, so you may need to soak and/or wash two or three times (without drying) for any noticeable change. Use a bluing agent.
