Kombucha tea, a beverage that dates back to Ancient China, is also called Kombucha mushroom tea. It is made from a fermented mushroom that is actually a cake of bacteria, not a real mushroom. Kombucha tea is said to have curative properties and was traditionally made as a tonic for stomach ailments but was also used for other maladies. Though the benefits of drinking Kombucha tea may not yet have been proven by science, learning to brew and enjoy it isn’t difficult. Bring the water to a boil.
