How Do You Breed Danio Rerio, The Zebra Danio?
The Zebra Danio is known in scientific circles as “Danio Rerio”. It was previously known as “Brachydanio Rerio”. The zebra is a hardy, and lively tropical aquarium fish that is easy to take care of. Zebras are schooling fish, so it is best to keep them in groups of at least five, preferably at least eight to ten. It is only natural for the home aquarium keeper to want to try their hand at breeding their zebras. It is relatively easy to do, but zebra fish do present a few minor challenges. Make sure you have both a healthy male and a healthy female zebra fish. Males are slimmer and females are plumper. Separate the males from females in separate tanks. Feed them heavily with high quality fish food. If possible, include some live food in their diet. Set up the spawning tank.
