Yes the statistics say 1 in 3 guinea pigs will die during labor or while being pregnant. However this I believe covers the offspring too. It isn’t abnormal to have still born babies born to a mother during stress which makes that statistic higher. So here is the deal, she is most likely already pregnant. alot of pet people believe you should remove the boar and watch her during birth incase she develops an issue. As a show breeder I will tell you that will only increase the chances of her dying or the babies being still born. Guinea pigs like people can develop pregnancy toxemia and to prevent it she needs lots of activity. So a piggie friend to keep her active while pregnant is a necessity. Guinea pigs are social animals and need a partner to decrease depression. The boar will keep her active, but will also breed you with in hours of her giving birth too. If you don’t want another litter, then remove the boar now and place another female in with her now and leave her there until after
