There are two types of drivers–those who have locked the keys in their car, and those who will someday lock the keys in their car. Often this requires calling a locksmith, who will use a cheap little metal tool called a “Slim Jim.” You can purchase one from any automotive supply store, and some even come magnetized so that you can stick them to the underside of your vehicle (it will usually do you no good to own a Slim Jim if it is locked safely in your trunk when you need it). If you are industrious enough to own one of these handy little gadgets, here is how to use it to break into your car and retrieve your keys. Find some sort of wedge to use for holding the outer rubber seal away from the glass. It will open up a gap to maneuver in without being frustrated by impaired movement.
