How Do You Braid With Polar Fleece?
Polar fleece is popular for blankets and outerwear because it is lightweight and provides more warmth relative to its weight than most other fabrics. It has great insulating ability, even when wet. Braiding polar fleece is simple, and the braids can be used for wristbands and headbands. Lay out a section of polar fleece that is at least 12 inches long by 3 inches wide and cut the fleece lengthwise into strips. If you are a beginner, start with 1-inch-wide strips. Gather the ends of three strips and tie them together in one knot, leaving at least 2 inches of fabric at the end behind the knot. Tape the knotted end to a flat surface, such as a counter top or table. Separate the strips. Take the left strip and place it over the middle strip. The left strip is now in the middle. Take the right strip and place it over the middle strip (which used to be the left strip).
