How Do You Boot From A Sata Hard Drive?
Since the beginning of the 21st century, SATA hard drives have experienced increased popularity. SATA hard drives connect differently to your motherboard than a standard PCI hard drive, so setting them as a primary boot device can be somewhat tricky. If you follow these instructions you will be able to boot from your SATA hard drive in a matter of minutes. Make sure your jumper for the hard drive is set in the master configuration. The jumper is a small rubber fitting that goes on the back of your hard drive and is used by your motherboard to check which drives to load first. Most master configurations have the jumper set to the two prongs on the left side. Confirm this setting with your motherboard’s instruction manual, because this may be different for some boards. Set the jumpers for all other attached drives to the slave configuration by moving their jumpers one set to the right. Make sure your SATA hard drive is properly connected to your motherboard, and reboot your computer. Reb
