Fill a vegetable steamer full of eggs and submerge into boiling water. Don’t add too many eggs to the steamer or they will fall out or float out in the pan and hit the edge and CRACK! If you do not have a vegetable steamer that has a long enough handle so your fingers do not enter the water, put the steamer in one pot, boil the water in another pot, then add boiling water to your eggs and proceed with cooking. Boil eggs for 10-15 minutes for soft boiled eggs, or for 15-20 minutes for hard boiled eggs. You do not have to cover the pot while boiling the eggs. When the eggs have cooked to your desired doneness, remove from hot water and quickly add to a cold water bath, even an ice bath will do, until eggs have cooled completely.
