The first thing to do is decide which end of the trail you want to start from. You can start in either Lewisburg or at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. I recommend starting at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, though I started in Lewisburg, because you will be biking on a slight downgrade the entire trip. I recommend doing the trip in two days. A great listing of places to stay, some campsites on the trail & other accommodations located off the trail. A great website that has mile by mile listings is here. http://www.greenbrierrailtrailstatepark.com/overnights.htm Check that your gear is in tip top shape, pack some water, clothes, snacks and a first aid kit then head to your trail head of choice.
