How Do You Bi-Wire Focal Car Audio Speakers?
Focal car audio speakers have an excellent reputation for quality sound reproduction. If you want to really get the best out of them, consider bi-wiring. Bi-wiring is simply a way of individually amplifying the woofer and tweeter in a speaker set. It yields improved clarity in the highs and better bass in the lows. Not all speakers can be bi-wired, but if yours can, take a look at how it can be done. Determine whether or not your focal car audio speakers can be bi-wired. To allow bi-wiring, your speakers must be component speakers, with separate tweeters, woofers, and crossovers, and the crossover circuits must have individual inputs for the low and high frequencies, as opposed to a single input. Look at the crossovers for “Input – High, + -” and Input – Low, = -“. If you have terminals on the crossovers that are marked as such, you can bi-wire the speakers.
