How Do You Benefit From The Iowa Writers Workshop?
The University of Iowa (and Iowa City) is known internationally as THE place for writing. Not only did Iowa set the mold for the concept of the writing workshop, but scores of well-regarded authors have come through its program. Whether you are the next Hemingway or simply someone with a penchant for prose, there are ways to benefit from the programs Iowa has to offer without having to be accepted into one of its prestigious M.F.A. programs. Attend the University of Iowa as a traditional undergraduate. As an undergraduate, you may take some writing courses taught by M.F.A candidates (who are themselves excellent teachers and resources), but you may also take workshops with the same renowned faculty members that work in the graduate program.
