Children’s books have been popular for centuries. “Alice in Wonderland,” the children’s “Golden Book” series and Dr. Seuss have all been staples of just about every child’s life. Learn how to begin writing a children’s book that might one day join the list of classic children’s books that inspire every child’s imagination. Know the age group of your target audience. Write appropriately for this age group, but be careful not to talk down to young readers. Children understand better than we sometimes give them credit for. Challenge young readers by presenting new ideas and concepts to them and teaching those ideas and concepts by weaving them into a lively, fast-paced story.
