How Do You Become An Automotive Mechanic?
Automotive mechanics work on cars or light trucks that need to be fixed. They must be able to figure out the source of the problem and fix it quickly and efficiently. They must also be knowledgeable about automobiles as well. There is a small education requirement to become on automotive mechanic. Step 1 Take courses in high school that relate to this position, such as automotive technology, shop, math and electronics. Take business programs that focus on entrepreneurship if you are interested in the possibility of opening up your own business. Some high schools participate in the Automotive Youth Education Service (AYES). This is a partnership between high school automotive repair programs, automotive manufacturers and automotive dealers.
