Once you learn CPR, ACLS or other skills offered by the American Heart Association, you may feel like its time to teach others those same skills. Becoming an American Heart Association Instructor takes a little time and effort, but is worth it. Decide which American Heart Association class you wish to instruct. The American Heart Association offers instructor classes in CPR, First Aid, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and other common health care worker certifications. Call your local hospital to get a schedule of instructor classes. Most hospitals either offer American Heart Association instructor classes, or know where you can find them. Make sure you have gotten the correct books and paid for the class in advance. Most American Heart Association instructor classes require an instructor handbook and pre-payment.
