Advertising copywriters create slogans for companies which relate to advertising their products. Copywriters write advertisements for clients that can range from small family-owned businesses to large corporations. These ads appear on radio and television, and promote a positive image for companies. Although there is no specific educational requirement to become a copywriter, employers usually look at candidates who have some college or university education. Take several courses that relate to this position before graduating high school, if possible. Some suggested courses include English, math, social studies, creative arts, business, computers, visual arts, management and personal and career development. These courses provide a liberal arts foundation you need for general knowledge. A concentration in math, business and management will give you an edge.
