How Do You Become A Valuable Employee?
Ever wonder why some people are highly valued? You will never wonder again. Over my time as an employee in a mall, a bank, and as a part-time instructor in high school and college, there are certain things you just don’t do to get ahead. This list will point you in the right direction. As an added bonus they’re easy to do. Step 1 Show up on time. This is so simple to do and almost no one does it. You’ll note, however, that the successful people are almost always early. This is part of what contributes to their success. You know “early bird gets the worm?” Step 2 Don’t show up drunk. I’ve seen this more than I care to admit. Don’t do this. You’re useless. You’d have been better off not showing up at all. Step 3 Don’t show up high. In addition to the explanation in number two: it’s illegal. Don’t do it. Step 4 Help out during a crisis. As we’ve learned from the first steps: people show up late, drunk, and/or high. When work needs help guess who can help: you. Go! Step 5 Congratulations!!
