How Do You Become A Union Painter Apprentice?
Becoming an apprentice is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Apprenticeship programs are sponsored by joint employer and labor groups. The Union of Painters and Allied Trades also include drywall finishers, glaziers, sign & display workers, and floor & decorative covering workers. Step 1 Consider your physical characteristics: Are you physically fit to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and scaffolds. Can you work in inclement weather and can you work with others well. If you answered yes, Than I believe this may be your occupation. Step 2 All apprentices programs incorporate skills training with safety and health training. Sign & display workers have a two year apprentice. Painters, drywall finishers, and floor coverer participate in a three year apprenticeship and glaziers have a four year apprenticeship.
