• Take dance, singing, and acting classes. Not necessarily when you are young, but it does help to start early. • Don’t be scared of being rejected. Stars go through thousands and thousands of auditions, and only a couple will be successful. • Know the difference between the role and you. If you measure yourself by the size of your role, you are almost certain to be either come an alcoholic, a drug addict, or go through depression, or even all three! • Get a job on the side. Being on Broadway does not go on forever. You might have years where you won’t have any role on the stage, so to keep living you will need to work. You might also be an understudy so you won’t be needed most of the time. Remember that you are one of thousands, most likely even millions of people who have the exact same dream as you, so if you don’t become successful, remember that you are still the person you are and no matter what you are great!
