For decades people have been fascinated with storm chasing. Though what you see on TV and in the movies about this subject isn’t all realistic, the essential fact represented is true: There are people who like tracking and observing extreme and otherwise unusual weather. Most storm chasers do what they do as a hobby, not a profession. As such, storm chasing has no formal requirements. But there are several measures you can take–and several things you need to understand–to prepare yourself for this scientific hobby. Step 1 Understand that storm chasing is not a career.
