How Do You Become A Speech & Language Pathologist Assistant?
Speech and Language Pathologist Assistants help people with communication disorders and work directly with certified speech-language pathologists in hospitals, schools and other settings. The Assistant is responsible for transcribing speeches, communicating with patients and helping the certified speech-language pathologist with clinical services. Training and education is completed both in the classroom and on the job. Complete your Master’s Degree. All prospective Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants must complete a Master’s Degree in their field. This can be completed at the same school that granted the individual’s Bachelor’s Degree. Study sign language. Complete a sign language course from an area technical college or trade school, or study sign language independently to obtain strong sign language skills.
