How Do You Become A PGA Teacher?
Becoming a PGA professional is an exciting career opportunity for the avid golfer. While playing golf professionally is a dream for many golfers, it is a reality for a limited few. Becoming a teaching professional allows a golf enthusiast a more realistic opportunity to make a career in the golf industry. Teaching professionals are accredited by the PGA and may specialize in teaching, equipment or management. Step 1 Find a job working with a PGA teaching professional. This may be working as an assistant club professional, working in management at a club or working with a PGA pro who specializes in equipment. Step 2 Register as a student PGA member. This may be done by contacting the PGA, and the professional you work with should be able to help with this process. Step 3 Enter into the PGA’s apprentice program, a 3-year certification program that includes study in myriad subjects, including the Rules of Golf, equipment making, management, public relations, event management and the like.
