How Do You Become A Passport Acceptance Facility?
Passport Acceptance Facilities, or PAFs, are agencies that ensure the proper completion of passport-related forms, accept any payment that goes along with passport procedures, and, in some cases, provide photograph services. These agencies exist mainly in the US, and are the backbone of the State Department for procedures concerning passport renewals, lost passports, addition of pages to the passport, and new passport requests. Step 1 Apply with the local office of the State Department to become a non-federal PAF. Submit a notarized paper with all the names and signatures of every person that will serve as agents in the PAF. These forms should be subscribed by the would-be facility manager. Step 2 Submit an updated list of all the agents working at the PAF every year. Make sure not to get behind on this, as it may cause the permanent closure of your facility. Step 3 Have a fast forwarding procedure, so passports can come and go between your PAF and the State Department.
