How Do You Become A Nuclear Cardiovascular Technician?
Nuclear cardiovascular technicians are the people you’ll see if you need an echo-cardiogram or other diagnostic testing involving your heart and cardiovascular system. They are the technicians who perform the tests on you. Schooling in the allied health fields is the background you need to become a nuclear cardiovascular technician. Enroll in your local hospital’s medical technician certificate program, or earn an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Courses in science and medicine will give you the background you need as you pursue your specialty in cardiology. Nuclear Medicine Net provides a list of schools with accredited programs in nuclear medicine (see Resources). Fulfill the requirements established by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) before attempting to become a certified nuclear cardiovascular technician. You must have current NMTCB certification or be able to document that you have worked in the field for 4,000 hours. Visit t
