Becoming a Licensed Piercer Step 1 Find an apprenticeship program with a reputable piercing shop and trained professionals. Step 2 Go to a blood borne pathogens class hosted by either OSHA, the Red Cross or National Safety Council. Step 3 Learn CPR and First Aid via OSHA or the YMCA. Step 4 Work as a trainee for three months or more in order to learn: sterilization, disinfection, cross-contamination and other health and safety concerns.
