Unlike many states, Missouri does not have statewide licensing standards for electricians, instead leaving the establishment and interpretation of standards to counties and municipalities. The city of St. Charles requires electricians to be licensed by St. Charles County. The county only licenses experienced electricians who have passed the Master Electrician Exam from the International Code Council.
