How Do You Become A Highschool Football Coach?
Every Friday night and Saturday during the fall hundreds of high school football teams take to the field, usually led by men who’ve demonstrated an ability to lead teenagers on the field, and off. Getting one of these jobs can be difficult, or easy, depending on the program and the school district. Step 1 High school football is big in many states, including Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio and California, and the schools with the best programs and winning traditions are very selective when it comes to their head coaches. In general, you’ll need several years of coaching experience as an assistant on the high school level to gain consideration for a head coaching job. Favored candidates are usually assistant coaches currently on staff who’ve demonstrated great teaching, organizational and leadership skills. Step 2 A standout college player, particularly from a large and well known university, with strong leadership skills will usually receive strong consideration when applying for a high scho
