A fire has just started in the forests of California and it must be contained as quickly as possible to minimize property damage and protect area residents. Forest firefighter crews are immediately alerted to put out the fires. Some arrive at the site by airplane, parachuting to the fire and then gathering their dropped supplies and equipment. Other firefighters get to work on containment efforts, such as cutting down trees, clearing brush and digging trenches with their axes, chain saws, shovels and water or chemical pumps. They reach the fire before it spreads too far and it is soon put out.
